The Swakula Sali Community has been carrying on the performance of Special Pooja to Goddess Amba Bhavani through PARU, held on every Ashada.
This year the Pooja is being held TODAY at Sri Bande Mahakali Temple (I-Cha Gudi).

The Mahamanglarthi will be at 12 noon.

SHRI AVADHOOT MAHARAJ IN MALLIKARJUNA SWAMY TEMPLE

 The Devotees of sri Shaila Mallikarjuna Swamy were blessed to have in their midst Shri Avadhoot Sudhir Gandhi from Alandi.
Avadhoot is a disciple of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and his singing is exactly similar to the great Singer.

Avdhoot Gandhi from Alandi, Maharashtra and his group performed an Abhanga, Bharud and a Gondhal. Compositions of Savata Mali, Bahina Bai and Eknath Maharaj embellished Avdhoot's powerful singing.
This was a performance in such soulful and melodious voice so I could not stop myself from singing along.

The "ALAK NIRANJAN" song got the audience swaying in their seat with his prowess on the Sambal (folk drums) and when they sang praises of Goddess Ambabai, every single devotee too joint in the Udho!
The Shankhnaad (blowing of the conch shell) elevated the pitch.

PARU IN BANDE MAHAKALI TEMPLE

Swakula Sali community has been carrying on the tradition of performing ‘PARU” (a special pooja) to Mother Tulja Bhavani.

This pooja is done in Aashada month every year in the divine presence of Bande Mahakali, that is, the I-Cha Gudi.

This year, as usual, under the guidance of Poojya Sri Soma Sundar Dixit, the pooja was held on 27^th July with Chandi Homa, special Alankar to the Devi. 

The pooja had a fair sprinkling of participation from the Swakula Sali community, but less than expectations. The thin attendance was a disappointment inspite of repeated reminders sent through sms by Srikanth Matrubai to nearly more than 250 Swakula Sali families. 

The Maha Pooja was followed by distributing of Prasad to the devotees.

The tasty Prasad contained Rice Bath, Curd Rice and Fruits.

Those who came were happy with the special Alankara and the tasty Prasad.

Request fellow Salis to attend such programmes in future in large numbers.

Bhagwan Adi Shankaracharya’s Jayanthi is observed on Vaisakha Shukla Panchami, that is the fifth day in the first half of Vaishaka Month.
Every year, the Swakula Sali Community & Sri Saila Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple celebrates the occassion in a unique way by conducting a Samoohika (Group) Parayana of the great and holy BHAGVAD GITA!!!.
Like wise, this year too the Gita parayana was held. A large number of devotees took part in the Akhanda Parayana of the holy Bhagvat Gita.
The parayana was concluded with Maha Mangalarthi and Prasad.
The Prasad was sponspored by Matrubai Khandappa and Brothers (grandsons of Matrubai Khandappa Nanjundappa).

The 48th Divya Aradhane of Sri Sri Hari Hara Nanda Bharthi Swamiji was celebrated recently in Anantha Ashrama.

The day long programme included
1. "pravachana" by Sri Data Pada Nanda Swamiji of Chinmaya Mission
2. Srimad Bhagavad Geetha Parayana
3. Pandari Bhajan

After the Maha Mangalarthi, delicious Prasada were served to devotees who had come.

Rama Navami in Nava Gudi

Hi,
As usual, the Rama Navami was celebrated with great fanfare in Sri Saila Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple on 12 April 2011.

Little Girls dressed as "Mother Kausalya" were swinging the jhoola of Baby Lord Ram.

The Prasad was sponspored by Sarode Babu and AshwathNarayana (children of Sharada Akka).
They have been doing this yoeman service for more than 50 years now.

ANNADANA IN NANJUNGUD

Swakula Sali Bandhus have been doing the yoeman service of Annadana in the divine city of Sri Srikanteshwara Swamy, NANJUNGUD.

While some like Sri.S.N.Gangadhar have been doing this seva for more than 20 years now, the OM CRICKETERS have been doing this divine service for the past 4 years or so.
This seva is done during the Rathotsava of the Swamy during the Holi festival.
